Zo, ik ben in Mexico, yes! Zaterdagochtend 4 februari vertrok ik en het was superkoud: -12! De dag ervoor had ik deze hele berg in mn rugzak gepropt en ben ik ermee naar station Delft gelopen (op die schoentjes die je linksonder ziet):
Wel, I'm in Mexico! I left Holland Saturday the 4th of February and it was freezing cold: -12C! I put this big pile of stuff in my backpack the day before and walked it to Delft station (on the shoes in the left bottom corner):
Eenmaal in Alkmaar zette ik de tas op de weegschaal en hij bleek maar 20 kilo te wegen. Die mocht mee dus!
Once in Alkmaar I put the backpack on a scale and found out it weighed only 20kg. Light enough for the plane!
Onderweg naar Schiphol zag het er zo uit. Sorry voor de vlekken in het midden, het raam bleef maar bevriezen!

Heel wat vluchten waren vertraagd, maar bij mijn vlucht was er tot we het vliegtuig in mochten niks aan de hand. Eenmaal binnen bleek dat we nog op een paar passagiers moesten wachten en daarna zat het vliegtuig onder het ijs. Langs het de-icing platform gaan was best leuk: met robotkarretjes werd alles schoongespoten. Met een uurtje was alles klaar en konden we opstijgen!
Many flights were delayed but until getting on the plane, nothing was wrong with mine. Once on board, it appeared that some passengers had not yet been able to get to the plane. So we had to wait for a bit, and then the plane got covered in ice. Passing by the de-icing platform was fun: robotic carts came by to spray everything off. We took off just an hour later than planned :)

in mn megagrote kamer in een hostel in Mexico City! Het is daar 7 uur vroeger dan in Nederland dus ookal was het daar pas het begin van de avond, ik had het idee dat het midden in de nacht was! De volgende dag vloog ik om 10u 's morgens naar Hermosillo, de eindbestemming! En daar ziet het er zo uit:
in my huge room in a hostel in Mexico City! It is 7 hours earlier there than in Holland so even though it was only the early evening, I felt like it was the middle of the night already! The next day my plane to Hermosillo, the final destination, left at 10AM. And this is what Hermosillo looks like:
zonnig, palmbomen en kleurige huizen! Nathaniel haalde me op, we regelden mn huurcontract en boodschappen en hebben daarna de Superbowl gekeken mn zn vrienden. American Football, wat overigens niks met voetbal te maken heeft

sunny, palm trees and colourful houses! Nathaniel picked me up, we took care of the contract for my apartment, got me some groceries and watched the Superbowl with his friends. Awesome first day!
En de volgende dag gingen we naar Kino Baai, supermooi strand!
And we went to Kino Bay the next day, a really beautiful beach!
